Richard R. Smith is Vice President of Adjusters International/Basloe, Levin & Cuccaro. A specialist in property, business income and extra expense claims recoveries, he has been instrumental in helping clients recover from losses of virtually every type—including fire, flood and hurricane damages from such major storms as Jean, Frances, and Charlie in 2004; Katrina and Wilma in 2005; Ike in 2008; Superstorm Sandy in 2012; and the New York State Floods of 2006.
As a lead adjuster, Mr. Smith has been involved in the settlement of over 1,000 property and business interruption losses. He has presented expert testimony in losses on multiple occasions. His experience encompasses having worked on behalf of health care facilities, manufacturers, retail stores, restaurants, hotels, school districts, shopping centers and real property management companies. Mr. Smith’s clients include attorneys, judges and other members of the legal profession.
As an advocate for the insured, Mr. Smiths’ experience was extremely valuable to such clients as CLK Management, Great Neck, New York; Centro Properties based in Australia; Ambassador Plaza Hotel & Casino, San Juan; Swiss Chalet Inc., San Juan; John’s Island Condominium Association, John’s Island, Florida; The Matt Brewing Company, Utica, New York; and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
With more than 30 years of experience in the public adjusting profession, he holds the designation of Certified Professional Public Adjuster (CPPA) by the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA).
