Adjusters International Controller Earns CFF Credential
Maria Suppa, CPA, CFF, MBA, Controller of Adjusters International, has achieved the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) Credential through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The CFF Credential, established in 2008 by the AICPA, is granted to qualified CPAs with demonstrated expertise and extensive professional experience in financial forensics.
The AICPA's CFF designation is only granted to members in good standing who possess significant business experience in the area of financial forensics and have completed a substantial amount of focused continuing professional education in forensic accounting. A Certified Public Accountant, Suppa specializes in business interruption/extra expense insurance claims. She also has an extensive background in all accounting-related aspects of property damage insurance claims, including dependent properties, payroll limitation claims, utilities services, leasehold interest, accounts receivable, electronic data, stock claims, inventory reconstructions, and brands and labels coverage.
"There are many different facets of the accounting profession as a whole," said Suppa. "Financial Forensics is one such division that comprises fundamental accounting skills in areas such as fraud prevention, detection and response; financial statement representation; and economic damages calculations. Knowledge in these specific areas aids me in adding another layer of proficiency and value to our clients."
Suppa is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and President Elect of the Utica Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Accounting from Utica College of Syracuse University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting from SUNY Institute of Technology.
