The Empire State Relief Fund - Providing Support after the Storm
Many of those impacted by Hurricane Sandy are finding that there is a substantial gap in the cost of repairing or replacing their home and the funds available to them through their insurance policies and the FEMA assistance program. In response, Governor Andrew Cuomo has issued an appeal to residents throughout New York State to assist their fellow New Yorkers in their recovery from Hurricane Sandy. The newly established Empire State Relief Fund is dedicated to providing funding, materials and services to those recovering from Hurricane Sandy to assist them in rebuilding and restoring their homes.
Even though it has been over a month since the storm hit, for many the recovery efforts have just begun and there are still many long-term challenges to be faced.
