Wine, Craft Beer & Funds To Support Springville Field & Stream Trout Pond Project
Our public adjusters were back again this year for a bit of fun and a great cause at the Springville-Griffith Community Education Foundation (SGCEF) 2019 Wine/Craft Beer Tasting & Live/Silent Auction. On November 2nd, our Principal & Co-Owner Steve Vanuga, who also serves as President of the foundation, was on the mic to host the festivities for sponsors and participants.
For the last twelve years, the foundation has given back $400,000 to the community — including over $70,000 in mini grants — to organizations like the Elizabethan Ministry and Springville Center for the Arts. The foundation’s driving purpose is to support local educational programs, facilities, and activities involving education, art, physical education, and other school and community programs.
The focus of this year’s event was to continue SGCEF’s support of the Springville Field & Stream Trout Pond Project in partnership with Green Springville in order to
- Dredge and renovate the pond
- Improve and create public fishing access to it for physically challenged individuals
- Restore and improve the fish habitat
- Rebuild the former on-site fish hatchery
- Add a new learning center for aqua-culture
This year’s event drew a record crowd and the foundation was thrilled to present a check for $25,000 to the Pond Project, which included a generous donation of $5,000 by Felton Burns VFW Post 5260.
As President of SGCEF, Steve and our team had a fantastic time with fellow volunteers making sure the Pond Project continues its momentum and becomes a lasting gift for the community and local region. Many thanks to everyone who participated and contributed.
